Nicotine Toothpicks

What Are Nicotine Toothpicks?

Nicotine toothpicks are natural birchwood picks infused with pharmaceutical-grade nicotine and food-grade flavouring. You place one in your mouth, chew or suck gently, and nicotine is absorbed through the lining of your cheeks and gums. This is called buccal absorption, the same mechanism that nicotine pouches use, just delivered through a different format. No smoke, no vapour, no spit, no device.

Each toothpick typically contains 10mg of nicotine and lasts 10 to 20 minutes depending on how actively you chew. Packs contain 20 picks. The format is completely tobacco-free and produces no visible output, making nicotine toothpicks one of the most discreet nicotine options available.

How Do Nicotine Toothpicks Work?

The nicotine and flavouring are infused directly into the birchwood using a crystallisation process. When you place the toothpick in your mouth and chew or hold it against your cheek and gum, the infusion releases gradually. Nicotine enters your bloodstream through the oral mucosa, giving a steady, controlled delivery over the duration of the session. You will typically feel the effect within a few minutes of use.

Why Choose Toothpicks Over Pouches?

Nicotine toothpicks and nicotine pouches both deliver nicotine through the mouth without smoke or vapour, but they suit different situations and preferences.

Oral fixation. For people quitting smoking or vaping, the physical habit of having something in your mouth is often as hard to break as the nicotine craving. A toothpick directly replaces that hand-to-mouth action in a way that pouches cannot. This makes toothpicks particularly useful for people in the early stages of quitting.

Discretion. A toothpick in your mouth draws practically zero attention. Even the subtle bump of a pouch under the lip can be visible in close conversation. Toothpicks are ideal for meetings, interviews, flights, or any situation where you want a completely invisible nicotine option.

When pouches are better. Pouches offer a much wider range of strengths (from 1.5mg to 50mg+) and flavours (300+ across 25+ brands at NicPouches). If you want precise strength control or maximum flavour choice, pouches give you more options. Pouches are also hands-free once placed under the lip, while toothpicks involve some chewing or holding.

Who Are Nicotine Toothpicks For?

People quitting smoking who miss the physical habit. If patches, gum, or pouches have not worked because you still crave the hand-to-mouth action, a toothpick replaces that behavioural loop directly.

Vapers who need a vapour-free option. Flights, offices, hospitals, public transport. A toothpick gives you nicotine without any visible output.

Pouch users who want variety. Some people rotate between pouches and toothpicks depending on the situation. Pouches for longer hands-free use, toothpicks for quick discreet use on the move.
